About
Eucerin Face Pigment Control Sunscreen SPF50+ is a daily sunscreen suitable for all skin types. Its advanced formula offers ultra-high protection against sun-induced hyperpigmentation and helps to reduce existing sunspots for a more even skin tone:
Ultra-high sun protection: Advanced Spectral Technology combines UVA/UVB filters with the antioxidant Licochalcone A to provide effective, daily protection against harmful UV rays and HEVIS light. The formula is further enriched with Glycyrrhetinic Acid, which helps to protect the skin cells in the deeper epidermal layers from harmful UV-induced free radicals and supports the skin’s own DNA repair mechanism.
More even complexion: This anti-pigment sunscreen is further enriched with Thiamidol, a highly effective active that helps to reduce dark spots over time and, when used regularly, prevents their re-appearance.
Eucerin Sun Pigment Control Fluid SPF50+ has a pleasant light texture that absorbs quickly. Dermatologically proven for very good tolerability on sensitive skin and suitable for all skin types.

Licochalcone A is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant active that is derived from the roots of the Chinese licorice plant Glycyrrhiza inflata. Licochalcone A protects cells from oxidative stress mediated by UV and blue light (HEVIS).
Licochalcone A is able to activate anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and detoxifying enzymes. These enzymes protect the skin cells from damage induced by oxidative stress, like lipid peroxidation and DNA as wells as protein damage. Licochalcone A is able to soothe irritated skin and redness.
Glycyrrhetinic acid (also called Enoxolon) is derived from the roots of Glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice plant) and is well-known in traditional Chinese medicine. It is a pentacyclic triterpenoid with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.
Glycyrrhetinic acid helps to preserve the level of hyaluronic acid and elastin against enzymatic degradation by hyaluronidase. Furthermore supports the skin's own repair mechanism against UV-induced DNA damage.
Thiamidol(R) is an effective and patented ingredient that acts at the root cause of hyperpigmentation. Thiamidol is clinically proven to reduce hyperpigmentation on all skin types, preventing its re-appearance with regular usage. The active was developed in over 10 years of research based on screening of a library of 50,000 compounds.
What is hyperpigmentation and what causes it?
Hyperpigmentation is the term used to describe areas of uneven pigmentation on skin. It appears as darkened patches or spots that make skin look uneven. These dark spots are often referred to as sun spots (or age spots) and hyperpigmentation is also the symptom of skin conditions such as melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The sun is the number one cause of hyperpigmentation as it’s sunlight that triggers the production of melanin, the pigment that gives our skin its color, in the first place. This is why effective UVA and UVB protection with high-energy visible light defense is the most important step you can take in helping to protect your skin from hyperpigmentation.
How do I know which SPF to use?
Sunscreens are available in four different levels of protection: low (factor 6 to 10), medium (15 to 25), high (30 to 50) and very high (50+). For a sunny country like India, we recommend very high protection daily (50+).
Why do I need to integrate sun face care into my daily routine?
Sunlight, in moderation, provides essential Vitamin D, promoting healthy bones and reducing the risk of depression. However, overexposure to the sun can significantly damage the skin both on the surface and at a cellular level. This damage is often not immediately visible, making us unaware of its full impact until years later when it manifests as premature aging, hyperpigmentation, and, in severe cases, skin cancer.
India's sunny and humid climate means constant exposure to harmful UV rays, even on cloudy days, in the shade, and indoors. With 80% of visible aging attributed to UV rays, wearing sunscreen every day is crucial to prevent the long-term effects of sun damage and maintain healthy, youthful skin.
